Signed the Lease and Got the Keys

Today, I visited the new apartment and signed the lease.  It’s freshly painted, clean carpets and ready to move in.  The view from the apartment is perfect…if I open the windows, I can hear the beautiful sound of the water fountain below.  I am on the 4th floor, which is actually only two floors above the lobby, so I can see the comings and goings in the front.  a

The apartment actually has a loading dock in the back of the apartment which allows the truck to pull right up to the loading dock…and move the furniture in through the 1st floor (which is actually the basement) and up the freight elevator right to my door down the hall.  This should make moving easier than I imagined.  And the front office gives us a special key to lock the elevator so you can load and unload easier.

I still have to try to quickly sell the fridge, washer and dryer, since this is not needed in this apartment and to pay for storage for a year seems silly.  For the same amount of money, I can buy new I think.

No new pictures today, but here is a picture of my new friends from St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, VA.  I have a standing invitation to join them for breakfast after church every sunday. The woman who is sitting next to me in the booth is Beverly Clemson.  She works with me.  She has been so nice to me…helping me settled.  We are spending tomorrow going to Arlington Cemetery after church tomorrow.
